Summer

APRIL / SEPTEMBER

Oh, summer
in abundance, a cart
full of ripe apples

What is there to do in Sauze during the summer?

We can recommend dozens of activities designed to rejuvenate your body and mind during the warmer months: scenic hikes, bike rides, leisurely walks through villages and mountain huts…

And after your outdoor activities, the advice is always the same: relax by the pool or at the spa!

HIKING TOURS

Sauze di Cesana

Nestled in unspoiled natural surroundings, Sauze di Cesana offers hikers a rich variety of trails.

A route along ancient roads, now known as the “balcony trail,” connects all the hamlets—from Rollieres to Sauze di Cesana—and then climbs up to Grangesises, Bessen Haut and Bessen Bass, eventually reaching the Argentera Valley, as well as the neighboring towns of Cesana and Sestriere.

In particular, in the Argentera Valley, you can find hiking trails along the valley floor—accessible to everyone—as well as high-mountain trails.

EQUIPPED TRAILS

CESANA TORINESE

At Chaberton Adventure Park, you can spend a wonderful day surrounded by nature, choosing between—or combining—pure adrenaline and total relaxation.

The park was built using methods that are non-invasive to the trees: nothing penetrates their trunks, which are in fact protected, and an annual agroforestry assessment, along with the corresponding technical adjustments, ensures their normal growth.

All artificial structures, platforms, cables, and playground equipment are periodically tested, monitored, and certified to ensure the highest level of safety.

BIKE TOURS

Sauze di Cesana

Sauze di Cesana, with its strategic location, offers numerous routes for both mountain biking and road biking.

There are trails of various difficulty levels and lengths suitable for families, as well as for both experienced and less experienced hikers.

You can visit what are ski slopes in the winter; even in the summer, you’ll find the mountain huts open, where you can enjoy a relaxing lunch at high altitude.

Guests staying at Granuit can take advantage of the bicycle delivery/pickup service right at your accommodations. For more information, ask Serena and Giovanni 😉

BIKE PARK

BARDONECCHIA AND MONGINEVRO

The Bardonecchia Bike Park, located in the Bardonecchia ski lift area, is a true paradise for cyclists, who can try their hand at numerous disciplines here, such as mountain biking, downhill, freeride, and cross-country.

The entire area offers over 400 km of trails that range in elevation from 1,300 meters to 3,000 meters. There is also a Junior Park for children in Pian del Sole, at the top station of the Smith4 four-seat chairlift.

Alternatively, the Monginevro Bike Park offers 30 km of trails within the park and more than 70 km of other routes. Since the resort is 1 km from the border, we can practically consider it to be in Piedmont.

The Bike Park consists of four trails: green, blue, red, and black. Aside from the green trail—which is designated for families—the other three differ mainly in the obstacles along the route and the type of terrain.

CLIMBING ROUTES

SUSA VALLEY

The Susa Valley is perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquility, but it’s also ideal for those looking for a bit of adrenaline and adventure. In fact, our region offers numerous captivating climbing walls for climbers of all levels—from the most experienced to beginners, and even children who want to try their hand at the walls that have shaped the history of sport climbing.

In the Susa Valley, you can climb year-round—you just need to choose the right slope and elevation for the season.

To discover the thrill of a vertical climbing experience, you can choose your own open-air climbing gym—or try more than one—among the cliffs of the Foresto and Chianocco gorges, the historic gneiss quarries of Borgone di Susa, Caprie, Condove, or Mompellato: you’ll be spoiled for choice, with options ranging from sheer rock faces to more approachable ones. In the Susa Valley, adventure and fun are guaranteed!

VIA FERRATA

Keyboards

Experience the thrill of crossing the world’s longest Tibetan bridge, suspended 468 meters above the ground! At the end of the bridge, you can access the Bunker Via Ferrata, an easy route suitable for adults and children that ends with a walk through an old military bunker, leading back to the access trail.

Or try the via ferrata outside the Tibetan Bridge trail. It’s very challenging, both because it requires a lot of physical effort (more than 500 meters of elevation gain) and because it’s very high up.

GOLF COURSES

Sestriere and Claviere

The Sestriere Golf Course was founded in 1932 by Edoardo Agnelli and a group of English architects, and as early as 1936, it hosted the first Italian International Omnium Championship, which was won by Henry Cotton.

The history of the Claviere Golf Club, on the other hand, is intertwined with that of the Lavazza family. In fact, it was Giuseppe Lavazza who, in 1951, began the renovation of the facility. However, it was only under President Emilio Lavazza, starting in 1971, that the course and facilities underwent significant improvements. Thanks to his great passion for the sport and his dedication, Emilio highlighted the importance of golf as a means of bringing people together and upholding the principles of sportsmanship and respect for the rules.

SPA RESORTS

Monginevro

Located at an elevation of 1,860 meters on the Italian border, the Monginevro resort is a must-visit destination—an oasis of peace where you can admire the beauty of the mountain scenery.

At the end of 2014, Durancia—the new Alpine water park—opened its doors in the heart of Monginevro, offering an unmissable experience to share with family or friends.

How about embarking on a surprising journey to a modern center where different worlds are within reach?

PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS

Sestriere and Briançon

Sestriere and Briançon Municipal Swimming Pools: heated, open, indoor, accessible to people with disabilities, and equipped with whirlpool jets.

Don’t miss the chance to take a dip in the heated pools while enjoying the breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountains.
